I investigated a lot of different options to start my first residency appliance in Costa Rica and CRIE simply stood up from the list. On the initial call, I had the pleasure of talking with Johanna, who immediately confirmed my choice to go with CRIE.
As for everything in Costa Rica, you don’t want to start things with the wrong people, as you will lose a LOT of time, money and energy. In the case of Johanna and her team, I’ve been able to rely on a combination of professionalism, experience and dedication to quality.
The process took 1 year and 9 months to complete successfully, considering a complex post-covid period. Living in a country far away from Costa Rica, I’m very grateful that I could rely on Johanna and her team to handle everything while keeping me updated on the process.

How CRIE helps
CRIE specializes in immigration and residency services. Our work includes guidance on residency categories, document review, coordination with our immigration expert, and preparation of your residency submission in line with the requirements of Costa Rica’s immigration authorities.
While we do not manage unrelated services such as tax filings, shipping or moving logistics, customs procedures, or business registrations, we can assist with financial services or real estate transactions through our affiliated companies under Grupo Gap when these are relevant to your relocation or investment plans.
Results and service costs

All immigration decisions, approvals, and processing times are determined solely by the Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería (DGME) and may vary based on government workload, regulation changes, and factors outside of CRIE’s control.
Government fees, consular charges, apostilles, authentications, translations, and document issuance costs are paid directly by the client. These third-party expenses are not included in CRIE’s professional fees unless clearly stated in writing.
